James Barker is a sculptor living on the island of Maui.  In earlier days, James was an art teacher at the secondary level in California, Minnesota and Mexico.   Following academia, James owned and operated a successful gallery and production pottery studio in Washington State. 

During this past decade, James has been developing what he terms Special Containers ~ Sculptural Vessels.  Concentrating exclusively in the eternal medium of bronze, the sculptor's unique creations are gaining worldwide attention for their power, grace and elegance.  With an extraordinary eye for detail and clearly a deep knowledge and reverence for nature, the artist is creating an astoundingly modern vision of our natural world.  Mr. Barker is continually unveiling more vessels as well as beautiful figurative studies.
