"Images of Longs Peak and Rocky Mountain National Park" by James Disney October 9 -19, 2002 Gallery East features James Disney's first show of paintings in nearly ten years. At a high point in his art career, Disney was elected to the Board of Larimer County Commissioners in 1992 and served two four-year terms in office. Returning to his passion for art, Disney's "Images of Longs Peak and Rocky Mountain National Park" includes paintings of landscapes that are closest to his heart. During the 30 years of painting, prior to becoming
a Commissioner, Disney did numerous paintings and drawings of Longs Peak
and Rocky Mountain National Park. This first show of Disney's new
works features the special places where he feels most at home. His
familiarity with the Park comes from hiking over 3000 miles and climbing
all of its peaks, including 92 ascents of Longs Peak. |
