Sharon Hults, a native of Illinois, moved with her family to Boulder, Colorado in 1966.
She began painting as a means of exploring various avenues to express her
appreciation of the natural beauty of the state. Sharon has made extensive
photography trips throughout the United States and Canada gathering material for her
paintings. Composition with strong contrast and crisp washes are her trademarks.
She prefers watercolor as her medium for creating a delicate balance and drama in
her work.

Sharon's work reflects a variety of subject matter from mountain
landscapes to large, dramatic flowers. She has also produced a series of heirloom
paintings based on her family's collection. She says, "Capturing the majesty of
mountain peaks, the contrasts of floral scenes and the textures inherent in my heirloom
pieces are challenges I enjoy."
Teaching workshops and classes provide an opportunity to focus and clarify her technique.
Sharon's work has been shown in numerous one woman and group shows such as, the
Kansas Watercolor Society Exhibition, the San Diego Watercolor Society International
Exhibition and the Top 100 Artists for
The Arts For The Parks.
