Doug Erion began painting with friend and
fellow painter Charles Cross in 1988. His paintings first appeared in exhibits in
1994 and since then have appeared nationally in juried exhibitions for the National
Arts for the Parks, Oil Painters of America, and the NCAA National
Juried Exhibition. Regionally, his paintings have been exhibited in the Colorado
Governor's Art Show, The Colorado Open Biennial, Oil Painters of America Regional,
and at many small group shows including the acclaimed On the Trail of Lewis &
Clark held at the Merril-Johnson Gallery in Denver. |

In addition to his own painting, Doug teaches painting and
drawing at the Loveland Academy of Fine Art, holds weekly drawing sessions,
serves on the Loveland Visual Arts Commission and writes limited circulation
articles on art for his friends and collectors. He is currently writing a book for
outdoor painters and acting as co-curator for a painting exhibition of Colorado landscape
painting to be held at the Loveland Museum. He is represented by Gallery East in
Loveland and by the Merrill-Johnson Gallery in Denver. He maintains a web site at http://www.dougerion.com.
Doug lives in Loveland with his wife Lynne and their family.
