Bold, vibrant and full-spirited describe Miani Carnevale's three-dimensional, mixed media work.  A graduate of the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, she has also studied art in Oslo, Norway, and Florence, Italy.  Miani exhibits her work throughout the United States and is represented in collections nationwide.  

Miani's uplifting, evocative work is a delight to the senses.  You can almost hear the color as the surface texture draws you into the experience of each piece.  She knows her materials well and works as a conductor might as she orchestrates each piece towards completion.

Not content to limit herself to one medium, Miani creates a visual dance upon a mudded plaster surface with oil, pastel, acrylic, crayon, pencil, chalk, and found materials.   The process is one of building, layering and sanding which allows for previously applied color and texture to reveal itself.  Attracted to surface texture as well as color, she makes tactile as well as visual decisions as each piece comes to life.

Her work communicates a sense of play, exploration and adventure.  Drawing you beneath its surface like a magnet, the work begs to be touched and experienced.   Miani loves what she does and it shows.
